Leaving Tirana early in the morning to go to Lumi i Shales is a real escape from reality.
We leave early in the minibus leaving Tirana behind us as soon as we wake up and already chaotic.
The journey is long but after the first half the landscape immediately becomes pleasant and enchanted.
You walk along the lake of Koman for a long time enjoying unique panoramas full of glimpses to photograph.
Once in Koman you reach the River Port and you embark on small motor pirogues that, thanks to the little draft, can navigate the river / lake going up the current.
The journey is long and of unimaginable beauty. At every bend of the river one is struck by wonder. The path is tortuous and increasingly narrow. Going upstream and approaching the source, the water is increasingly clear and fresh.
It seems to travel into the unknown leaving behind civilization and progress. The ever more uncontaminated and luxuriant nature and the sensation is more like that of a journey through time than in space.
